As a first time buyer the entire home buying process was extremely new to me and very nerve-wracking. The first conversation I had with Daryn was very informative and did a lot to calm those nerves. He pointed out several financing options that had not been made aware to me by other mortgage consultants or banks. That first conversation took place 10 months before I closed. He maintained frequent contact throughout the entire process and was willing to spend an hour or more on the phone answering my questions even when he had no guarantee of winning my business. That fact made it clear to me that he was sincerely interested in helping the customer, not just the bottom line. Other lenders, who disappeared as my home search got longer and longer, had a distinctly different tone. They always wanted a guarantee or something in return from me before they were willing to get into the complexities of my financing.
When it came time to secure the financing for my place and lock in the rate there were no surprises. Daryn had previously gone through every item on the good faith estimate line by line in great detail pausing to answer every question. Everything I had been shown and told was exactly the same as before. There were no hidden or unexplained costs.
The most impressive part of my experience working with Daryn and R.O.C Financial was that he attended the closing. Thankfully, there were no issues at the closing, but it was nice to know that he was present had there been. It was also very reassuring that he was double and triple checking all of the numbers on the legal documents to make sure they matched his. His methodical preparation, attention to detail and thorough explanations made for a quick and easy closing process.
Daryn’s creativity and experience enabled me to secure the right amount of financing, something other lenders were unable to do, and he did it at the most competitive rate. It’s a great feeling to be able to look back on the biggest purchase of my life and know that it could not have been done any better.
